Some December strolls.

With the weather having reverted to typical gloomy December and the high fells often in the clag a short walk to Arnison Crag has been the highlight of the month so far. However, it does give some rather fine views of Ullswater though on this dull day not so spectacular. The remaining pictures from the first half of the month were taken on local strolls.

Thurs Dec 4th. On the way up Arnison Crag a view of the head of Ullswater. The hill in the distance just right of centre is Great Mell Fell.

Thurs Dec 4th.About halfway up looking over the shoulder of Birks to the pointed top of Catstyecam.

Thurs Dec 4th.And from th top looking ESE towards High Street, Thornthwaite Crag and Gray Crag. Nice little cloud forming low down on the slopes opposite.

Thurs Dec 4th. OK so where's my biscuit? Top of Arnison Crag.

Thurs Dec 4th.On the way back down from this short walk. Place Fell dominating the right hand side of this shot.

Tues Dec 9th.The "beach" at the SE end of Grasmere as you will rarely see it, that is, totally devoid of people. But then it was raining very heavily. Ben didn't mind!

Thurs Dec 11th.A grim day looking across the empty car park at Waterhead towards snowy Wetherlam.

Thurs Dec 11th.Moored yachts and a Wintery sky at the head of Windermere.

Fri Dec 12th.Wansfell early afternoon with even a bit of blue sky

And finally......Fri Dec 12th And from the same point, the snowy slopes of Red Screes above the lower geen fields. .
